Sales of single track downloads in the US increased by 45% in 2007, from 588.2m in 2006 to 844.2m. Total sales of albums fell by 15% to 500.5m units, or to 9.5%, when sales of digital singles are counted as 10-track equivalent albums. Digital album sales represented only 10% of the total album purchases in 2007.
