MySpace has announced the public launch of its Application Gallery, to take on Facebook’s apps platform. MySpace is launching it with more than 1,000 widgets for users to install on their profiles, including music, video, politics and causes. MySpace says that during the service’s beta period, users installed more than 1.2 million of the apps, so it’s off to a running start. So far, there are 34 apps categorised as Music, with the largest being Playlist .com’s Music Video Playlists, which has 204,635 installs at the time of writing.
