French Internet users visiting social networking sites increased 45%, year-on-year in December 2008. The top 5 social networks in France were Facebook with 12 million visitors, up 443 % year-on-year (due in part to the launch of a French language interface in February). Skyrock with 11 million visitors, up 8%. L’internaute Copains d’Avant, with 5.8 million visitors, up 112%. MySpace Sites had 3 million visitors and Flickr.com with 1.8 million visitors complete the top five.
