Spotify has announced that it’s actually now got more than one million registered users, rather than the 800,000 figure quoted in the FT and New Media Age late last week.”Late last night we passed a big milestone in our history, at 19.50 GMT we registered our one millionth Spotify user!,” says a post on the company’s blog this morning. Our user growth has been amazing since we launched back in October, in particular the past few weeks have been phenomenal and growth continues to pick up speed.”Congratulations are clearly due on the site’s growth, although given that most of those users will be on the ad-supported version, the question now is whether Spotify’s advertising sales are growing at the same rate – all the songs being streamed by those million users will have to be paid for, after all.
