Vivendi has announced its latest set of financials, revealing that Universal Music Group posted revenues of €4.65 billion for 2008 as a whole – down 4.5% year-on-year. Recorded music revenues were down 8.8% for the year, but revenues increased in music publishing, artist services and merchandising. Digital sales grew 31% in 2008 at constant currency, with higher mobile sales outside North America one factor. UMG’s EBITA was €686 million – up 9.9%. Meanwhile, Vivendi’s Activision Blizzard console publishing division (of Guitar Hero fame) generated revenues of €2.09 billion, while EBITA was €34 million.
