French broadband users most likely to buy music from their ISP, says study


A report by Strategy Analytics claims that French broadband users are more likely to buy music and games from their ISPs than from sites/stores like iTunes and Amazon. It’s not a big surprise, given that French ISPs were some of the first to launch their own music stores and subscription services. SA says the competition is a good thing: “While unlawful P2P downloading is still a widespread phenomenon in France, about a quarter of French broadband users paid to download some form of online content in the last year,” says analyst Jia Wu.
