
NRK has always been pretty forward-thinking when it comes to digital distribution of its TV shows – last year it started seeding them on BitTorrent. Now, however, the publicly-funded broadcaster has gone a step further and launched its own torrent tracker to distribute the shows. Why? Well, it means it can track more stats on how they’re being downloaded and shared. The first show to be distributed (DRM-free) through the tracker is… “a very popular televisions series about people living in remote places in Norway”. They probably need to work on that sales pitch…
