Hats off to Keane, who’ve found a new spin on the age-old `band does webcast’ promotional formula. They’re doing one in 3D! Their five-song performance from Abbey Road studios on 2 April will be a world first, with fans getting the necessary 3D glasses from the band’s website, or free with the vinyl version of their new single Better Than This. UK firm Nineteen Fifteen Productions is running the whole thing. “We believe that the tradition of rock & roll is to always innovate, to bring new ideas and concepts into music,” says Keane in a statement. “We are therefore incredibly excited about the prospect of being the first band to beam our music live in 3D over the internet.” Bowie and Gabriel must be KICKING themselves…
