As with most headlines ending in a question mark, the answer may well be “No”. But anyway, iCandy has launched a new technology allowing app developers to create QR codes (barcodes) for their iPhone applications. They can then be included in marketing materials – posters, print ads, album covers even – and when a user with the iCandy app on their iPhone takes a photo for the barcode, they’re taken straight to its product page on the iTunes App Store. Niche, but potentially interesting.
