Good news for companies looking to monetise their iPhone apps with advertising: Google has made a discreet entrance into the sector, testing ads in restaurant review app Urbanspoon. It’s very much an experiment, apparently, but is a step on from Google’s current iPhone strategy of placing ads within iPhone-friendly websites. Until now, advertising in iPhone apps has been left to firms like AdMob and Greystripe.
