Global broadband subscriptions increased by almost 68m during 2008 to reach 422m by the end of the year, with 16m added during Q4 2008. The report reveals that there were 19.96m internet protocol (IPTV) subscribers worldwide at the end of 2008. According to the research the market shares of the multichannel TV market held by IPTV and digital terrestrial TV (DTT) are increasing, and they currently hold 10% and 30% of the global market respectively.
