Telefonica, the Spanish mobile operator and Vodafone have announced they have agreed to share and build network infrastructure in Spain, Germany, Ireland and Britain. The move will generate significant benefits for both companies including estimated cost savings of hundreds of millions of euros over the next 10 years. Telefonica and Vodafone are looking into further possible joint initiatives in an attempt to cut their costs further during the economic down-turn.
