Revenues from global cloud services will increase from $46.4bn in 2008 to $56.3bn in 2009, a year-on-year increase of 21%. Revenues will reach $150.1bn by 2013. Business related cloud services, including cloud based advertising, electronic commerce, human resources and payments processing, accounted for approximately 83% of the market during 2008, and forecasts revenues in this sector to total $46.6bn in 2009, representing a rise of 19.8%. Revenues from advertising were the highest in the sector, reaching $28bn in 2008. Gartner reveals that systems infrastructure accounted for only 5.5% of the market in cloud computing in 2008 and expects this to increase to 6% in 2009.
