57% of 15-24 year olds in the UK watched music videos on YouTube during March 2009 compared with 56% who watched them on TV. However, adults as a whole prefer to watch music videos on TV. Around 50% of adults who watched a music video on YouTube subsequently purchased music released by the artists they had seen, with 36% purchasing a CD, 15% buying a digital download and 7% a concert ticket. 48% of families with children aged between 10 and 15 watched music on TV, compared with 39% who watched on YouTube.
