Overall online advertising expenditure reached £3.35bn during 2008 representing year-on-year growth of 17%. The research reveals that the online share of total UK advertising expenditure increased from 15.5% in 2007 to 19.2% in 2008. According to the research online display advertising grew by 7.7% during 2008 to reach £637.4m but fell by 9% during the second half of the year, whilst digital classified advertising grew by 22% year-on-year in 2008 to reach £715.2m in spite of a fall of approximately 2.2% during the second half of the year.
