And still the lawsuits keep flying in the console music game world – soon, every publisher will have sued every other publisher (possibly). Activision is on the wrong end of a lawsuit from Genius Products and Numark Industries, over its upcoming DJ Hero game. The suit is for “intentional interference with contract, breach of contract, conversion and misappropriation of trade secrets”, and is related to Genius Products’ game Scratch: The Ultimate DJ Game. It was developed by a firm called 7 Studios, which during the development was bought by… Activision! So Genius is saying that the secrets behind its game were revealed to the developer’s new owner, and that Activision and 7 Studios withheld key technology to try and hamper Scratch’s route to market.
