3D avatars have been The Future for years now, but we still have high hopes. As do VC firms Mission Ventures, Selby Ventures and TechCoast Angels, who’ve stumped up for a $2.7 million Series B funding round for Big Stage Entertainment. It offers 3D facial avatar-creation technology that apparently “provides consumers a single online location for the projection of self into digital life”. Nice! Clients include Sony Music Entertainment, so there’s a music angle here.
