Okay, so ad-supported music service Qtrax has relaunched in the US, with all its label deals and no technical gremlins, right? Er… The deals are in place, but check this sentence from Ars Technica’s review of the new version: “Every track we tried to download stalled in our queue for hours without any progress… we were never able to successfully download an entire song. Similarly, when trying to play tracks, we were greeted with an error saying `The stream is encrypted and decryption is not supported.’” The reviewer ends up begging to spend her money on iTunes instead, which we guess makes Qtrax 2.0 good news for the music industry. Maybe.
