No sooner does News Corporation have a new CEO of digital media, than the rumours start about MySpace’s founding team being given the boot.Specifically, TechCrunch is reporting that News Corp has hired a headhunting firm to find a replacement for MySpace CEO Chris DeWolfe, and claims that “a decision has already been made to terminate Chris DeWolfe’s employment with MySpace”, with the core team following.A follow-up post claims that a new CEO for MySpace has already been found and is in the “final stages of contract negotiations”. Any such move runs the risk of destabilising MySpace at a time when it’s trying to roll out its joint-venture MySpace Music across the world, and also react to the stiff competition provided to its main site by Facebook.Then again, perhaps it’s exactly those reasons that are spurring News Corp to look for new executives for its social networking subsidiary…
