Sony has posted a loss of $1 billion for its fiscal year ended March 31, representing the first annual loss at the Japanese company in 14 years. The $1 billion loss compares with earnings of $3.8 billion in Sony’s previous fiscal year. Annual revenue also fell 13%, to $78.8 billion. Revenue at the company’s games unit was off 18%, while electronics revenue fell 17%, and sales at Sony’s entertainment division were down 16.4% for the year. Sony also forecast a loss of $1.2 billion for its coming fiscal year.
