Australian startup Next Top Hit has announced a new contest for music artists, who are being asked to upload their songs to the site, with the most popular winning a price of a “5 nation world tour valued at $200,000”. Unsurprisingly, details are fairly sketchy about how exactly this tour will work or where it will take place. Still, co-founder Nathan Battle seems bullish. “We want to encourage musicians from all genres to sign up, enter and entertain an international audience that we will provide through our global partners in TV, radio, print and online,” he says. It all kicks off in October, when visitors to the site will be able to vote for their favourites.
