
US startup HDGiants launched with the intention of selling HD music downloads to audiophiles, complete with a concierge to hand-deliver people’s purchases on a hard drive. Would you believe it, the company hasn’t made its fortune? Instead, it’s filed for bankruptcy protection, leaving Sony Music Entertainment as one of its three largest creditors. It’s the concierges we feel sorry for – surely the credit crunch is squeezing job opportunities for that particular skillset.
