Palm has announced that its soon-to-launch Palm Pre smartphone will sync with Apple’s iTunes software, allowing people to transfer their non-DRM music catalogues onto the handset. “It shows up in iTunes just like a regular device,” says Palm’s Paul Cousino. What Apple will make of this remains to be seen, though – it’s already been making threatening noises over possible patent infringement relating to the Pre’s multi-touch interface, so this will hardly improve its mood.
