Following recent speculation that Sony was set to launch a music downloads store on its PlayStation Network service for PS3 and PSP, PaidContent is now reporting that the plans have been axed. What’s more, the article claims that the games part of Sony’s head of label relations has left the company. However, this doesn’t mean PS3 and PSP owners won’t be able to buy music on their devices – Sony may instead talk to existing music stores or streaming services (witness Microsoft’s deal with Last.fm in the Gadgets / Games section of this Bulletin).
