
There’s been much discussion of Spain’s curious position as a top-ten music market, but also a top-ten market for online piracy. Critics now have more ammunition – a man accused of downloading 3,322 copyrighted movies and an undetermined amount of music has been acquitted of copyright infringement charges – apparently because there was no evidence he made any money from downloading or sharing them. TorrentFreak reports it’s due to the Spanish law that there must be an “intent to profit” for someone to be convicted of copyright infringement.
