Handset maker INQ Mobile has announced plans to launch a phone based around Twitter in time for Christmas, following its popular Facebook phone that’s sold by 3 in the UK. The new handset will cost operators less than $140 and will come with an embedded Twitter client. “This can really help open up and drive Twitter use on mobile when usage becomes part of your data package like on the PC,” says CEO Frank Meehan. We wonder if focusing each handset on a single service makes sense, though – don’t people want access to Facebook AND Twitter on their phone?
