The BBC has announced impressive figures for interactivity around its recent Radio 1 Big Weekend festival in the UK. The website received 5.3 million video requests – up from one million last year – while more than 1.1 million people tuned into interactive TV coverage via their red buttons. Meanwhile, the mobile site’s page impressions more than tripled compared to last year’s event. Next up for the Beeb is to repeat this success for its coverage of the Glastonbury festival.
