A FAQ published on eMusic’s website reveals that for the moment, its deal with Sony Music is US-only, and “we don’t currently have a timetable” for when it might extend to the UK, EU and Canada, “but we are actively working on it”. For that reason, existing eMusic subscribers outside the US aren’t getting a price increase, although new subscribers WILL pay the new rates. “We’re doing this for two reasons: To help attract new labels and bring back those we all miss and keep us where we need to be as a business.”
