A new iPhone was shown off at Apple’s WWDC keynote after all. The iPhone 3GS is a faster, more powerful version of Apple’s handset, with better battery life, HSDPA data speeds and video shooting and editing features. It goes on sale this month in 16GB and 32GB versions, although existing iPhone 3G owners will have to buy out their mobile contracts before being allowed to upgrade. Meanwhile, Apple has also announced that its new iPhone 3.0 software update will be made available on 17th June, two days before the iPhone 3GS goes on sale.
