Google is ramping up its AdSense for mobile apps program, opening up its private beta for more developers to take part. The contextual ads can be placed within Android and iPhone applications, targeted by applications, locations, categories or keywords. Music app Shazam has been one of the early beta testers, but for new entrants to qualify, they have to be free apps, and generate at least 100,000 pageviews per day. Google’s advertising clout should lead to several other music apps signing up.
