A new virus scam targeting BitTorrent users has been revealed by TorrentFreak. It takes the form of an email supposedly from anti-piracy firm MediaDefender, telling them they have been caught using a list of popular torrent trackers, with an attachment giving further details of their infringements. But it’s actually a virus that disables their firewall, steals their bank details, and gives hackers remote access to the computer. Ouch.
