Streaming music service Pandora has announced changes in the terms for accepting music from unsigned and independent artists. They can’t send in home-burned CDs any more – submissions must be available on Amazon as physical CDs, complete with cover art and UPC codes. That means artists without a label have to join Amazon’s Amazon Advantage Program, which costs $29.95 a year. The changes are already sparking protests.
