Nokia has slapped down a report in UK newspaper the Guardian that it’s planning to launch a smartphone running Google’s Android operating system. “There is no truth to this story whatsoever,” says a statement from the company. “It is a well known fact that Symbian is our platform of choice for smartphones.” The original story had suggested that Nokia would unveil its first Android handset in September this year at its Nokia World conference.
