UK-based streaming music service We7 has announced that it’s now reaching two million unique users a month. Half of those are playing music on the We7 site itself, and half are accessing it through partnerships with the sites of NME, The Guardian, The Sun, Daily Mirror and Glamour magazine, among others.”Going through these growth barriers is an outstanding reflection of the quality of the We7 service and the desire by the consumer to access and share good music in a legal way,” says CEO Steve Purdham. “We have also been honoured to host a raft of massive album exclusives and have created strong partnerships with various key players in media and music.”It’s perhaps no co-incidence that We7 has announced the 2m figure in the same week that Spotify revealed it now has more than two million users in the UK. Even so, We7’s growth is impressive – as recently as May, it had 600,000 unique users a month visiting its site.
