There’s been plenty of buzz around Brian Message’s new Polyphonic label, but Billboard has been digging into whether it will really be targeted at brand new bands. It reckons not, suggesting it’ll be more aimed at “the heritage acts of indie rock”. Polyphonic co-founder Adam Driscoll seems to confirm that, saying “We are all witnessing major labels starting to shed artists that are hitting only 80,000 or 100,000 unit sales.” Polyponic has $20 million to invest, and will reportedly be dividing this up into roughly $300,000 chunks for 70 bands.
