US karaoke firm The Singing Machine Co. has launched a digital service called The Karaoke Channel, in partnership with Canadian firm Stingray Digital Media Group. It offers song downloads with singalonga lyrics for $1.49 a pop, or $0.99 without the lyrics. They can then be played on a computer or iPod, or burned to discs that play in the company”s karaoke machines. TSMC is also planning to launch devices to video performances, which can then be uploaded to its community.
