Media futurist Gerd Leonhard (we never tire of that job title) has been having his say on Spotify, saying that while he really likes the streaming music service, he thinks it’s “pretty much a suicide mission”. Why? The lack of a public, compulsory licence for streaming rights. “The chances of Spotify surviving beyond next 24 months, in the current music industry framework… are similar to, well, the likelihood of having a cold day in hell.” So there you have it.
