Epicenter has a piece about plans to record traditional songs by the Maasai people of Kenya, and then digitise them for sale elsewhere in the world. The World Intellectual Property Organization is helping out with the project, which besides music also includes dances and oral histories. “We can introduce them to [world music label] Putumayo and Apple and we can try to link them in,” says the WIPO’s Wend Wendland.
