Analyst IDC claims that global online advertising spend shrank by 5% to $13.9 billion in Q2 this year, bucking reports elsewhere that the market is rebounding from the economic slump. IDC also claims display advertising, the type used by most online music services, was down 12% in Q2. Overall, IDC thinks the market won’t bounce back until the middle of next year.
