Spotify is turning up it plans for international expansions, hiring Faisal Galaria (previously international managing director of travel site Kayak.com and before that a European director at Skype) to set up a global business development team. Currently available only in Europe and Scandinavia, Spotify hopes later this year to launch in the USA, where it will face much stiffer competition against the likes of established streaming brands like Rhapsody. “I am passionate about building disruptive companies”, comments Faisal. “Spotify is changing the way we all enjoy music and the old paradigms of music ownership. It’s going to be fun.”
