Ars Technica has a report based on IFPI figures, claiming that revenue from digital music sales may overtake physical by 2016 globally, and by 2010 in the US. That’s based on a continuation of existing digital growth – in the US, digital accounted for 36% of music sales in 2008, although Europe is the laggard with 11% in the same period. By 2014, the report suggests that 78.4% of US music sales revenues will be from digital.
