All the rumours were right: Apple has sent out invites to an event on 9 September, featuring an iPod-toting dancer and the slogan “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it”. Expect eager Apple fanboys to spend the next week puzzling over whether that Stones lyric means Apple is or isn’t going to announce a Beatles deal at the event. More certain is the launch of a new iPod touch, probably with a camera (but probably not with a Yellow Submarine theme), as well as the new version of iTunes.
