This morning, Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom have announced plans to merge their UK mobile operators T-Mobile UK and Orange UK. The new 50:50 joint venture will have a customer base of around 28.4 million, making it the largest operator in the UK. Both sub-brands will be kept for 18 months while the new management figure out how (or if) to rebrand.
