We haven’t heard much from music browser firm Songbird for a while, but an article on TechCrunch explains why: CEO Rob Lord apparently left the company earlier this year “after burning through $8 million in venture capital”. However, the article claims the company has secured a new round of financing, and perhaps more importantly signed a deal to include its technology in five million music players from Philips.
