The BBC has announced that Sony’s PlayStation 3 console is now the second most popular device used to access its iPlayer catch-up TV service with 10% of usage, behind PCs. “This enthusiastic reception makes it clear that users do want iPlayer on their TV,” blogs the Beeb’s online controller Anthony Rose. As a result, the BBC has released a new version of the player for PS3 offering better video quality and a tweaked user interface.
