Techdirt has the link to a white paper on online music promotion, focusing on five well-known campaigns: Radiohead’s In Rainbows, Nine Inch Nails’ Ghosts I-IV, Groove Armada’s Bacardi EP, Danger Mouse’s blank CD-R and Mos Def’s t-shirt album. The white paper pulls out some lessons about what to do and what not to do when marketing online. It”s well worth a read, although we”d quibble with Groove Armada’s campaign being held up as a successful example – as we explained in our recent Report feature on branding and music, the Bacardi deal turned out to be a bit of a flop.www.techdirt.com
