We wrote about Gedda-Headz earlier this year: it’s a hip-hop project that’s a bit like Gorillaz 2.0, using iPhone and mobile games to promote the band through cartoon avatars. Except physical toys are part of the launch too – people buy the dolls to get access to the games, which are available for their phones. The first version of the Gedda-Headz app is in iPhone’s App Store now, as well as available for download to other mobiles. It’s an example of using a game to break a new band. Well, trying to use it, anyway.
