Jack Johnson is the latest artist to use Twitter to get some viral promotion while also offering a free download. Fans can visit a new section of his website and retweet a pre-made message plugging Johnson’s En Concert album, which once done allows them to download a track from the album. It’s not revolutionary – indeed, a bunch of artists have done the same thing in recent months – but it’s another example of how Twitter can fit into wider music marketing campaigns.
