Mobile advertising firm has released the data from its network, claiming that 23% of iPhone OS users, that’s iPhone and iPod touch, are using the latest 3.1 software, which was released earlier this month. 51% are on the 3.0 software, but 26% are on 2.x software. Meaning they can’t use apps that take advantage of new iPhone 3.0 features like micropayments and push notifications. iPod touch users are the laggards – they have to pay to upgrade from 2.x to 3.x, so only 35% of them have according to AdMob’s stats.
