Following the recent departure of its founders, Last.fm is losing more veteran staff in the UK, including head of music Jonas Woost, systems architect Russ Garrett and senior developer John Oskarsson. PaidContent UK claims these are personal decisions rather than a round of layoffs, and suggests more may follow. Garrett has blasted the music industry in his blog post announcing his departure: “It’ll be nice not to work in a company which is constantly subject to perplexingly arbitrary rules and unrealistic royalties set by increasingly out-of-touch record labels.”
